NON-CONTACT SLEEP ESTIMATION TECHNIQUE WHILE IN BED BY USING MILLIMETER-WAVE RADAR

We have developed a non-contact method of monitoring sleep-wake status using millimeter-wave radar for body movement while in bed to measure sleeps daily life continuously. Using both and Actigraph, which been proven sleep studies, we measured the movements two subjects week. multiple regression analysis with Actigraph scoring as supervisory values, derived radar-specific algorithm based on Cole-Kripke equation. The results showed that agreement rate was 84-87%, sensitivity 80-84%, specificity 81-96%, indicating method’s effectiveness.
